Popular Scarborough bakery closing its doors after decades of tasty treats

By Richard Southern

Beloved and very popular Agincourt Bakery will soon close up shop for good.

Located near Pharmacy and Finch, the family-owned business has been baking up meatball and veal sandwiches, cannolis, and bread for more than 30 years.

Owner Rocco Romagnuolo tells 680 NEWS that the plaza where the bakery has is located has been sold to developers.

“The developer decided to put in townhouses” he says “I don’t know how to fight this, I know that the community is responding, there are petitions going on”.

Agincourt Bakery, known for its Italian hot table featuring fresh made lasagna says it is looking for another location.

Finding one is not easy, as a lot of the other plazas in the area are also disappearing.

The Agincourt Bakery will close at the end of June.
