Man in 50s dead following North York industrial accident

A man believed to be in his 50s has died after an industrial accident in North York Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in the Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West area just before 8:30 a.m. for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived on scene it was deemed that it was an industrial accident and the Ministry of Labour was contacted.

Police said the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital where he later died.

The Ministry of Labour said the man, employed by Millwick Triple Waste Management, was struck by a dump truck .

An investigation is ongoing.
