Police identify American man fatally stabbed in Scarborough

Toronto police have identified an American man that was stabbed and killed in Scarborough.

The incident happened in the Eglinton and Midland Avenue area just after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers say that CPR was administered to the victim by a person nearby. The victim was then transported to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Mohamed Jeylan of Minnesota, USA.

The suspect is described as a man, Black, around 5-foot-11, 20-25 years old, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded top and light coloured pants.

Police say the person of interest was last seen in the area of Midland Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East shortly after 5:00 p.m. yesterday evening.

Anyone with information is being urged to call police.
