The son of Barry and Honey Sherman has gone public in an interview with the Toronto Star talking about the days leading up to the death of his parents and the speculation that he was being pressured to pay back millions of dollars to his dad.

Jonathon Sherman tells the Star’s Chief Investigative Reporter Kevin Donovan that Barry Sherman was in a difficult financial situation when he asked him and a business partner to repay a $50 million loan.

Jonathon said he was tired of people talking behind his back and speculating that he had something to do with the murder of his parents.

“I can tell you I was not involved,” he told the paper regarding the killings.

The billionaire couple were found dead in their North York mansion in December 2017. Homicide detectives say they have numerous persons of interest and a theory of what happened but they aren’t going public with more information.

In the five hour interview with the Star, Jonathon says his biggest issue is that his sister Alex believes he was involved in the murders which has created a family rift that will likely never heal.

Jonathon says he is working with a former Toronto Police homicide detective and passing on all new information to the investigating team.
