Week in review: ‘Most Toronto thing ever,’ shots at Maple Leafs, Doug Ford pumpkin carving

By Michelle Morton

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau summed it up perfectly when he says this pandemic “really sucks.”

But luckily for us, it’s not stopping people from having a little fun and sharing the goods with everyone online.

So pack your bags, we’re taking a trip down this week’s memory lane to look at the stories that brightened up our day.

Most Toronto thing you’ve ever seen?

Not all heroes wear capes.

A video has went viral on social media that has some calling it “the most Toronto thing ever.”

A guy riding on a segway near Keele and Dundas was caught carrying a raccoon by the scruff of its neck.

The person who filmed it happen told blogTO that the raccoon was walking dangerously close to the road when ‘segway guy’ grabbed the raccoon and rode away with the critter, and let the little one go in some nearby bushes.

“I better not quit my day job” — Doug Ford carving a pumpkin

Not a cheesecake this time, but still just as sweet.

Our premier carved time out of his day to share how he’s decorating his pumpkin for this Halloween.

And of course, he tells everyone to stay safe.

Ottawa Public Health gets ice cold with Toronto Maple Leafs

There’s not even any hockey happening right now, but it didn’t stop Ottawa Public Health from taking a jab at the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The health authority took to Twitter to encourage followers to remain optimistic while the city faced some snowfall, then the gloves came off, “But if Leafs fans can still be optimistic when going into Game 7 of a playoff series against Boston, surely the rest of us can find ways to keep the faith & stay the course.”

It didn’t take long for Toronto fans to stand up for the Leafs.
