Family makes emotional plea to missing Bradford teen, police update description

By Lucas Casaletto, The Canadian Press

Admariam Hailemichael and Ruta Zerezghi – the father and sister of missing 15-year old Siem Zerezghi of Bradford – delivered an emotional plea for their son and brother to come home on Thursday.

A massive search effort for the boy has now stretched into its seventh day.

In a message to her brother, Ruta Zerezghi says their family is worried about him, misses him, and loves him.

The 15-year-old was last seen on Friday night, but South Simcoe Police say there’s now video evidence that he was at his home as recently as Saturday at 7:45 a.m.

Police now also believe he was wearing the distinctive grey track pants with an orange stripe seen in the below photo.

Searchers have been scouring the community for Siem, using a drone, canine units, ATVs and checking individuals’ backyards.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, officers and the canine unit searched the area where he was last seen as well as in fields and wooded areas.

“It has been an absolutely overwhelming response from our community,” South Simcoe Chief of Police, Andrew Fletcher, said on Thursday.

“We are very optimistic that we can find Siem. We are expanding our search and are ruling out other locations around the town of Bradford.”

Officers are urging anyone with information on Zerezghi’s whereabouts to contact them immediately.
