No charges warranted against officer in Brampton crash that killed 4: SIU

The Special Investigation’s Unit (SIU) has concluded no charges are warranted against the police officer who was pursuing a vehicle that struck and killed four people.
On June 18, a Peel Regional officer was pursuing the driver of an Infinity when it struck an SUV at the intersection of Torbram Road and Countryside Drive.
Caledon mother Karolina Ciasullo, 37, and her daughters – Klara, 6, Lilianna, 3, and Mila, 1 – were all killed in the crash.
The SIU investigation says the officer observed the Infinity driving at a high rate of speed along Countryside Drive in the opposite direction with no plates attached. The officer made a U-turn and activated his emergency lights and the “offending vehicle” continued driving at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle then “blew the light” at Torbram Road and collided with the SUV. The Infinity was traveling at 152 km/hr at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Infinity, Brady Robertson, 20, is facing four counts of impaired driving causing death and four counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
He was also charged with one count of dangerous operation connected to an unrelated incident in Caledon two days prior to the crash.
Robertson was denied bail back in August on the initial charges.
