Walmart Canada says they’re putting an end to price matching.

The program let shoppers who saw a product priced cheaper at another retailer bring proof to Walmart who would then honour that lower price.

In a statement to 680NEWS, Walmart Canada says:

Over time, we have seen minimal usage of our Ad Match program, while at the same time the program has been causing delays at the checkout. As a result, we are discontinuing our Ad Match program in all stores and on Walmart.ca effective Oct. 15. We are more committed than ever to our promise of saving Canadians money so they can live better and making Walmart a simpler and faster place to shop.”

The company says its stores will still accept coupons and match prices if an in-store product is marked as more expensive compared to an identical version in its website.
