August long weekend: what’s open/closed on Monday

As Toronto heads into Stage 3 on Friday, many may be excited to spend the long weekend exploring all the city has to offer, but not everything will be open on the holiday Monday.

Those heading out of the house are reminded to continue practising physical distancing, and wearing a mask indoors or when physical distancing isn’t possible.

Below is a roundup of what’s open and closed.

Open

  • TTC will run on holiday service
  • GO will run on a Saturday schedule
  • Several tourist attractions are closed but the following are open: CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
  • Major malls: Bramalea City Centre (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Dufferin Mall (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Eaton Centre (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Erin Mills Town Centre (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Fairview Mall (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Markville (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Promenade (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Scarborough Town Centre (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Sherway Gardens (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Shops on the Don Mills (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Square One (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Toronto Premium Outlets (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Vaughan Mills Mall (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), and Yorkdale Shopping Centre (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • More than 200 Beer Store locations will be open, click here for a list
  • Select grocery stores, call ahead for your local store hours
  • Garbage collection: Curbside pickup is not provided on any Monday

  • LCBO
  • Government offices, municipal buildings, banks, and no mail delivery
