5 men charged in alleged ‘armed group assault’ in Brampton

Peel Regional Police say five men have been charged following an alleged “armed group assault” in Brampton earlier this month.

Police said in a news release Friday they were called to the James Potter Road and Bonnie Braes Drive area on the evening of July 16 after receiving reports of a suspected assault.

They allege the men, armed with sticks and cricket bats ambushed the victim, who suffered minor injuries.

Police said they have charged the following Brampton men in connection to the alleged incident:

  • Abhishek Abhishek, 20, has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Manoj Kumar, 51, has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Mohit Mohit, 19, has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Tinu Tinu, 19, has been charged with one count of assault.
  • Havee Havee, 26, has been charged with one count of assault.

 

Police are encouraging anyone with information on the incident to come forward. Tips can be left anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
