Ontario confirms 111 new cases of COVID-19, 1 more death

Ontario confirmed 111 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, a slight drop from the 116 cases reported yesterday.

One more person has died, bringing the death toll to 2,723.

The provincial total of confirmed cases now stands at 36,950 with 88.7 per cent considered resolved.

Ontario completed more than 16,744 tests for the novel coronavirus over the previous 24 hours.

The numbers of people in hospital, in intensive care and on ventilators because of the virus all increased slightly.

In a tweet, Minister of Health Christine Elliott noted that 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 21 reporting no new cases at all.
