By News staff

Toronto police are searching for the driver of a vehicle after a 34-year-old man was thrown from his motorcycle on the Gardiner Expressway early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on the Gardiner Expressway near the South Kingsway and Lake Shore Boulevard West ramps just after 12:30 a.m.

Police said the man was riding his motorcycle, possibly in a group of other riders, when his bike came into contact with another vehicle that was heading west.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle would have known what happened.

“A 2006-2011 Nissan Armada or Infiniti QX56 is believed to be a vehicle of interest,” police said. “It will have damage to the rear passenger side corner and passenger side mirror.”

Anyone with information on this incident, including CCTV or dash-cam video are asked to contact the police directly. Tips can also be left anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
