Girl, 6, rushed to trauma centre after falling from balcony

A six-year-old girl has been rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries after falling from a balcony. Police say the child lives on the twelfth floor, though it's not clear what storey she fell from.

A six-year-old girl was rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries after falling from a 12th floor balcony Tuesday.

Emergency crews were called to a building in the Jane and Finch area just after 2 p.m.

Toronto police say the girl’s injuries were originally life-threatening, but they have since been downgraded to serious. She is expected to recover.

There has been no word on the events leading up to the child’s fall.
