2-alarm fire breaks out in building under construction on Bloor

Toronto Fire is battling a two-alarm fire near Bloor Street and Avenue Road.

Crews responded to a call for white smoke coming from a building in the area around 9:40 p.m.

Toronto Fire says the blaze broke out in the basement of a building that’s currently under construction.

Officials say they’ve had hard time reaching the fire and have begun removing construction materials to douse the flames.

No injuries have been reported and there’s no word on what caused the fire.
