NEWFOUNDLAND (NEWS 1130) – An 11-year-old boy in Newfoundland who had a no-show at his Toronto Maple Leafs themed birthday party might have just become the coolest kid on the block.

According to a twitter post made by the boy’s father, Jason Foster, no one came out to Kade’s recent birthday party.

But twitter is picking up the slack.

Kade’s father tweeted out a picture of the birthday boy in front of the empty room asking for the Maple Leafs to turn that frown upside down and send some love.

Now Kade’s receiving thousands of wishes from hockey teams, players, and fans around the world.

Maple Leafs’, Mitchell Marner, responded to the post wishing Kade a Happy 11th Birthday and said, “Your friends from the Maple Leafs have a surprise gift coming your way!”

The original post has received over 5,000 retweets and 34,000 likes on Twitter.

The tweet also became the number one trending topic on Twitter in the country.
