By News Staff

The victim of a fatal double shooting in Newmarket Friday night outside an Airbnb has been identified.

York police say DeShane Taylor, 26, of Toronto was shot and killed while sitting in a vehicle in the driveway of a home on Colter Street.

A 23-year-old woman was also shot, but she is expected to survive her injuries. Her identity has not been released.

Police are looking for two male suspects who fled the scene in a four-door dark-coloured sedan. They believe the shooting was targeted.

There has been no description of the suspects released other than one was wearing a dark-coloured shirt.

It’s believed the victims were renting the Airbnb at the time of the shooting, but it’s still early in the investigation.

Airbnb has confirmed to CityNews the home was listed on their site and the booking guest has been removed from the platform.
