Cyclist dies after collision with transport truck on Highway 405: OPP

Police are investigating after a cyclist was killed following a collision with a transport truck on Highway 405 in Niagara Falls, Ont. early Thursday morning.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said they received a call at around 3:10 a.m that there had been a collision with a bicycle on the highway near Stanley Avenue.

When police arrived, they found the body of a 30-year-old man from Toronto.

It is not known why the cyclist was on the highway, as bicycles are prohibited from being on 400-series highways.

Police said they are asking anyone with information on this collision to contact them.
