Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Energy. Up $1.03, or 16.3 per cent, to $7.35 on 23.8 million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Energy. Up 32 cents, or 16.58 per cent, to $2.25 on 14.5 million shares.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Energy. Up $4.32, or 12.84 per cent, to $37.97 on 14.3 million shares. 

MEG Energy Corp. (TSX:MEG). Energy. Up 80 cents, or 13.82 per cent, to $6.59 on 12.1 million shares.

Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE). Energy. Up $1.50, or 12.07 per cent, to $13.93 on 11.2 million shares.

Crescent Point Energy Corp. (TSX:CPG). Energy. Up 58 cents, or 10.19 per cent, to $6.27 on 9.8 million shares.

Companies in the news:

Dream Global Real Estate Investment Trust. (TSX:DRG.UN). Up $2.40 to $16.57. Blackstone has signed a deal to acquire Dream Global Real Estate Investment Trust in a deal valued at $6.2 billion, including debt. Dream Global unitholders will receive $16.79 under the agreement, which is still subject to an approval vote and other customary conditions. It is expected to close in December.
