A Green Party candidate claims a tweet from several years ago that questioned if global warming was “just the end of the ice age?” was just a youthful attempt at humour.
Evan Price is currently running for the Greens in the federal riding of Durham, just outside Toronto. But he raised some eyebrows when a tweet from 2013 appeared to question the role humans play in climate change.

The comments appear to contradict the main mission of the Green Party, which has prioritized environmental issues. Leader Elizabeth May has been a vocal advocate for aggressive action to reverse the human impact on our climate.
“Let me be very clear: I have always believed in global warming and climate change without any doubt,” Price responded on his Twitter account. “I firmly believe that climate change is a national emergency that poses a threat to our country and our planet.”
This tweet in reference is from over six years ago, which is while I was still in high school. It was a poor attempt at sarcastic humour, which in hindsight should not have been made about a very real and pressing issue. Like many of us though, I have since grown and matured.

He goes on to say that if elected, he will work across partisan lines to fight climate change so that “my daughter’s generation isn’t left to fend for themselves.”
