Composite sketch released, $50K reward extended in unsolved 2016 Liberty Village murder

It’s been almost three years since a 26-year-old father of four was murdered after leaving a family birthday party in Liberty Village and Toronto police have released a composite sketch of the man believed to be responsible for his death.

Around 4 a.m. on September 11, 2016, Kiesingar Gunn, his fiancée and his friends were outside Forty2 Supper Club.

After the party let out and as they were driving away, the group noticed someone they knew involved in a fight.

As Gunn and the friend got out of their car and approached the group, several shots were fired and one struck Gunn in the head.

Bystanders performed first aid until paramedics arrived and took him to hospital, but he died.

The suspect is male, black, 18 to 22-years-old, five feet 11 inches to six feet tall, with a dark complexion, slim build, and hair braided in corn rows. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a black print.

Police said 20 to 30 people were there when the shooting happened and the suspect was inside the club before shooting, not necessarily for a birthday party, and someone knows who he is.

Investigators are still hoping someone who witnessed the shooting and can identify the suspect will come forward.

In December, police announced a $50,000 reward for information that would lead to an arrest and conviction in this case. The reward, which expired on Tuesday, has been extended another year – to Sept. 10, 2020.
