York Regional Police are on the hunt for a suspect wanted in a brazen shooting Friday night in Vaughan and it was all caught on video.

York Region Police say a “brazen shooting” at a plaza in Vaughan on Friday is connected to an incident last week in which a man threatened a woman with a gun.

Police say they were called to 3550 Rutherford Road, west of Highway 400, just after 5 p.m. and discovered a bullet-riddled doorway of a law office.

Investigators say surveillance video shows a man getting out of a parked vehicle and firing multiple shots into the business before fleeing the scene in a silver coloured sedan.

“Extremely brazen attack that we’ve seen here this afternoon,” said Const. Andy Pattenden who added no one was injured despite the fact employees were inside the office at the time of the shooting at the busy plaza.

Police says the suspect is very similar to a man who showed up outside the same business back on August 29 and confronted an employee. He was armed with a handgun and made some threats.

“We do believe it’s the same person that has come back this evening and fired shots into this business,” Pattenden said.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Somebody’s going to know who this person is and we need them to contact York Regional Police as soon as possible.”
