Boy, 15, struck by vehicle in city’s east end

A 15-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Toronto’s east end.

Police and paramedics were called to Victoria Park and Surrey avenues, just south of Lawrence Avenue East, around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The boy was taking to hospital and treated for minor injuries. His injuries were originally reported to be serious, but his condition was upgraded later in the morning.

Police originally said the boy was 12 years old and was walking at the time he was struck.

The driver remained at the scene and officers continue to investigate what caused the collision.
