Three people are dead, including a 13-year-old, in an apparent murder-suicide in Brampton.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Josephine Court in the area of Williams Parkway and Bramalea Road around 5:45 a.m. Friday where the bodies of a woman and a child were discovered suffering from stab wounds.

Police say a 53-year-old mother of four was pronounced dead at the scene while a 13-year-old boy was transported to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Police later discovered a body on Highway 410 at Williams Parkway around 6 a.m. They say the 51-year-old man is the husband and father of the two victims found in the house.

Police say he fled the residence in a vehicle and took his own life.

Police said they would not be releasing the identity of the victims or the suspect out of respect for the family’s privacy.

“At this particular point we aren’t looking for any suspects as well as there’s no concern for public safety,” Const. Heather Cannon said.

In an update later Friday, Const. Danny Martini confirmed that all the victims lived at the residence and that the emergency call to police was placed from inside the home.

“We haven’t had dealings with this residence previously,” she said.

“This is an isolated incident within this family, it is very unfortunate. There are no outstanding suspects.”
