A 38-disc set lets you hear Woodstock’s stage

By David Bauder, The Associated Press

NEW YORK — For the first time, an audio recording is available of nearly everything heard onstage at Woodstock 50 years ago. It has 432 songs stretched out over 38 CDs, with endless announcements about bad acid and lost people.

It’s the entire Woodstock experience, minus the mud.

Priced at nearly $800, who would buy such a thing — much less listen to it? More than you might think. All 1,969 copies sold out weeks ago, and some are already being offered online for resale for more than that.

Producers say they hope the set puts the focus back on the music of Woodstock.
