19-year-old critically injured in Hwy. 407 crash

A 19-year-old man was rushed to hospital with critical injuries after a crash on Highway 407 on Thursday evening.
Police were called to the collision in a westbound lane of the highway, just past Pine Valley shortly after 7 p.m.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says a sedan was travelling westbound when it broke down in a live lane of traffic. Soon after, it was rear ended by another vehicle, pushing it forward and critically injuring the driver.
He was taken to a trauma centre where he remains in life-threatening condition.
The male driver of the other vehicle was uninjured and remained on scene.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact police.
