Gas prices set to fall 5 cents by midnight across the GTA

By News Staff

Gas prices are expected to take another sizeable drop at midnight across the GTA.

According to En-Pro, the price at the pumps will fall five cents, down to 118.9 cents a litre. That makes it 19-cents a litre cheaper than a year ago at this time.

Roger McKnight, chief petroleum analyst for En-Pro International, credit’s the ‘Trump effect’ for the substantial drop.

“There’s a real fear of a drop in demand for both crude and refined products, mainly due to Trump’s $300-billion sanctions on China,” McKnight tells 680 NEWS. “China is the second largest energy consumer (next to the United States) in the world.”

The five cent drop comes on the heels of a four cent plunge before the long weekend. More good news could be on the way as another price drop is likely to come by this weekend.
