Canada Post says it is investigating what appears to be someone tampering with the mail.

In a video that is making the rounds on social media, a girl appears to be pouring a drink down into a Canada Post mailbox.

While Canada Post won’t confirm where the incident took place, it appears to have happened at a Mississauga plaza near 10 Line and Derry Road.

In a statement to CityNews, Canada Post says it can’t comment on the matter as the incident is under investigation but adds it takes the security of mail “very seriously.”

While mail theft is an indictable offence under the Criminal Code which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail, any number of other offences under the Canada Post Corporation Act carries with it a maximum five year prison sentence or a fine.

The incident is sparking lots of reaction online with some comparing the young woman to another viral video sensation who gained online notoriety after throwing a chair off a balcony in Toronto.
