Police seek suspect after elderly woman’s gold chain snatched

Toronto police have released security video of a suspect and two persons of interest after an elderly woman was robbed of her gold chain while walking with her husband in downtown Toronto last month.

Toronto police have released security video of a suspect and two persons of interest after an elderly woman was robbed of her gold chain while walking with her husband in downtown Toronto last month.

Police say the woman, 86, was walking northbound on Park Road near Yonge and Bloor streets with her husband on June 12 just after 8 p.m. when three unknown people approached them from behind.

One of the people snatched the woman’s gold chain off her neck.

Police said the woman gave chase, pleading for the property to be returned.

The suspect refused, and he was last seen walking toward Bloor Street East with two other people who police are calling “persons of interest” in the investigation.

The suspect is described as 25-30 years old with short black hair. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.

The first person of interest is described as 25-30 years old with short black hair. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, white t-shirt with black writing and dark-coloured pants.

The second person of interest is described as 25-30 years old. He was wearing a red hooded jacket with white strings, dark-coloured pants and black shoes.
