Toronto police are on the hunt for a suspect after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man believed to be a ride share driver.

It was reported that on Monday evening the 28-year-old victim ordered a ride share drive in the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Jane Street.

She then got into a vehicle she believed to be the ride she ordered.

Police said the driver led her to believe he was her ride share driver and then drove her to a parking lot and sexually assaulted her.

The driver reportedly made death threats to her as well.

He is described as between 25 and 35 years of age, brown complexion, approximately five feet seven inches and five feet nine inches tall, with a small build, and a short beard.

The vehicle is described as a grey or silver four-door car.

Police are asking anyone with information on the suspect to contact investigators.

Ride sharing company Uber said it has been “working with law enforcement to help educate the public on ways to help avoid fake rideshare drivers.” Click here for rider safety tips.
