Two people were pulled from a house fire in the city’s east end on Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in the Danforth and Warden Avenues area just after 9 a.m.

Firefighters faced heavy black smoke upon arrival.

Officials said both people were rescued from inside the burning building. They both suffered minor smoke inhalation and didn’t want to be taken to hospital.

Crews were able to get control of the fire and extinguish it. The building is currently being ventilated.

There has been no word on the cause of the blaze.

Warden has been closed from Danforth to Butterworth Avenue in both directions.
