1 woman dead, another seriously injured after being struck near Jane and Finch

One women has died and another has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Finch Avenue West just west of Jane Street.
Police say just before noon on Wednesday, two women – aged 60 and 62 – were walking across an uncontrolled section of Finch when they were both struck by a car driven by a 27-year-old male.
Both women were taken to Sunnybrook Hospital where the 62-year-old died of her injuries. The 60-year-old remains in hospital in serious condition.
The driver remained on the scene. No word yet if any charges will be laid
