A dump truck driver has been charged after a cyclist was struck and killed in Richmond Hill earlier this month.

Emergency crews were called to the scene near Bayview Avenue and Woodriver Street around 1 p.m. on May 6.

Police say the 44-year-old Richmond Hill woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, police charged 55-year-old Balwinder Singh, of Brampton, with dangerous driving causing death.

He is expected to appear in court on July 4.
