The little boy at the centre of an Amber Alert has been found.

Police say the 3-year-old was found Tuesday morning near Fort York.

He had been last seen on Monday on a bus travelling from Sudbury to Toronto with his 25-year-old mother.

Sudbury police say the pair were found after a call was received on its tip line.

However, a police source told 680 NEWS the mother called OPP herself when she found out police were looking for her and the child.

Maria St. Aubin from Sportsnet 590 The Fan tells 680 NEWS she was on the bus with the mother and son and it arrived in Toronto around 6:50 p.m. Monday. She says it did not seem like anything was amiss.

“[They were] very calm, no distress. The only reason they stuck out was because the kid was so adorable and I remember the mom’s outfit,” she says.

When St. Aubin saw the Amber Alert it reminded her of the pair and prompted her to call police.

“I saw the Amber Alert … so I looked it up and I saw the photos and thought ‘I think that’s the kid from my bus,'” she says, adding that she called police even though she had very little information.

“I think any information is probably good for them, just to get a timeline at least,” she says.

Toronto police say they received a number of complaints about being awakened by the amber alert issued for the boy and are reiterating that 9-1-1 is for emergencies only.
