One woman dead in three-vehicle crash in Milton

A Toronto woman is dead following a serious crash on Highway 401 in Milton.

OPP say the three-vehicle collision between two pickup trucks and a car occurred on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Guelph Line around 4 p.m.

Police say a 76-year-old female passenger in the car suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead on the scene. Ornge air ambulance was dispatched to the scene but did not transport anyone to hospital.

The 79-year-old male driver of the car suffered only minor injuries as did the drivers of the other two vehicles.

Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed from Guelph Line to Highway 25 for several hours as investigators tried to determine what led to the crash. The highway was reopened just before 9 p.m.
