Peel Regional Police say they’ve recovered the remains of a woman they describe as the victim of a 2017 homicide.

Police say 40-year-old Yunying Pan lived in Mississauga, Ont., at the time of her disappearance in December 2017. She was last heard from around 11 p.m on Dec. 5, 2017

About six weeks later, police say 51-year-old Shaofeng Han of Mississauga was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in her death.

Police say Pan knew the accused, but declined to provide details on the nature of their relationship.

On March 29, human remains were found in a wooded lot in the area of Matheson Boulevard and Kennedy Road and were identified as those of Yunying Pan

The investigation into Pan’s death remains open and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
