Toronto officer facing assault charge in 2018 incident

A Toronto police officer is facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm after an investigation by the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
According to the SIU, police responded to a 911 call at an apartment building on Sherbourne Street near Dundas Street the night of June 29, 2018.
When police arrived at the scene, there was an altercation between an officer and a 62-year-old man.
The man suffered serious injuries.
Const. Jason Boag is scheduled to appear in court on April 29.
