Toronto and the GTA are in for a soaking Thursday afternoon into the evening.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for several rounds of rain a large part of southern Ontario including Toronto, Hamilton, Halton, Peel, York and Durham regions.

Ten mm of of rain is possible and with the milder temperatures, Environment Canada says there’s a risk for flooding since the ground is still frozen or snow-covered.

There’s also a chance for isolated thunderstorms, which could boost the rainfall totals into the 15 to 25 mm range by Thursday night.
