Peel police are searching for a male suspect after a daylight shooting left a 21-year-old woman injured.

Officers were called to an apartment building on Yorkland Boulevard, near Goreway Drive, in Brampton, at 12 p.m. Monday.

The victim was found in the lobby of the building with non-life-threatening injuries and taken to hospital.

The woman and the suspect know each other and she was able to tell officers the suspect’s name, police said.

The suspect fled the scene in a 2013, four-door black Dodge Dart with Ontario licence plate CFTS598. It also has tinted windows and a dent on the driver’s side.

In a release on Monday night, Peel police identified the suspect as 20-year-old Devon Ruddock-Brooks from Brampton. He is wanted for attempted murder and several other offences.

Police have released a photo of the suspect and say that he  should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact police.
