Hwy. 401 reopens in Milton after pileup involving more than 20 vehicles

By The Canadian Press

Provincial police say the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Milton have reopened after a pileup involving more than 20 vehicles.

Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says at least 15 cars and seven transport trucks were involved in the crash, west of Highway 25.

He says traffic was backed up for kilometres as a result of the collision, but the road reopened around 3 p.m.

Schmidt says some of the trucks involved in the crash were blocking the highway shoulder, which was slowing down access for emergency vehicles and tow trucks.

No serious injuries have been reported.
