Toronto police say a car crash during stormy weather on Tuesday has led to a stabbing.

Police tweeted that two cars were involved in a collision at Danforth and Glebemount Avenues near Woodbine Avenue.

No one was hurt in the crash, but police say an altercation took place when the drivers of the vehicles got out to exchange information.

“Some of the passengers in one care became angry and started a confrontation,” said Const. David Hopkinson. “The occupants of that one car assaulted the other driver and a witness, stabbing the witness.”

The witness, a man in his 70s, was seriously injured and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects then returned to their vehicle and fled the scene in a black Range Rover fled the scene. They could be facing a number of charges including assault and failure to remain on scene
