Two people were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, including a firefighter, after a two-alarm blaze in Parkdale early Saturday morning.

Fire crews were called to the home on Temple Avenue, near King and Dufferin streets, just after 2 a.m.

A firefighter and resident were taken to hospital and are expected to be fine.

Officials say the basement of the house was destroyed. No adjoining buildings were damaged.

Six people living in the home have been displaced and Red Cross has been notified.

There is no word yet what caused the fire.

Houses like this were NEVER meant to be rented out like a duplex or rooming house. See what so called life has come to. Have at least a dozen kids each folks so you can fill these cash cows.
