1 dead, 2 injured in Vaughan crash

One person is dead after a three-vehicle crash in Vaughan.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at Islington Avenue and Sonoma Boulevard, north of Rutherford Road, just after 7 a.m. on Monday.

Police said a silver Honda Civic was heading north on Islington when it collided with a black Rav 4 that was heading southbound. The Civic then struck a blue Honda Civic, which was also going southbound.

York regional police the driver of the silver Civic was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Islington is closed from Rutherford to Major Mackenzie while police investigate.
