Man killed after hitting pole during possible street racing incident in Scarborough

A man is dead after crashing his vehicle into a pole in Scarborough.
Toronto police were called to the scene just before 10:30 p.m. to reports a car had collided with a telephone pole at McCowan and Ellesmere roads Saturday.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle without vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses tell police they saw the vehicle “travelling at high rates of speed” with another vehicle before losing control.
The second driver remained on the scene to speak to officers.
Police are investigating if street racing is a factor in the crash.
