A 51-year-old man has been charged after a large piece of plywood went through the windshield of a car driving on Highway 410 in Brampton.

Three women were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the piece of wood flew off another truck around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police originally said a man and woman were taken to hospital, but now say it was three women.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said the man was charged with an insecure load and will appear in court at a later date.
