1 teen dies, 4 injured in Vaughan crash

One teen has died and four others are in hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Vaughan.

Emergency crews were called to the area of King Vaughan Road near Kipling Avenue just before midnight on Tuesday.

Police said the vehicle was heading westbound on King Vaughan when, for an unknown reason, it left the road and struck a tree.

At least three of the five teens inside the vehicle had to be freed by first responders.

Police confirmed on Wednesday night that a 16-year-old boy has died. Another boy, 15, also has life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 17-year-old girl, and two other 16-year-old passengers, escaped with non life-threatening injuries.

Police have not laid any charges.
