By News Staff

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to a string of hate-related graffiti in Mississauga last year.

Peel police said they started investigating graffiti that contained derogatory references to Muslims in June 2017.

On Wednesday, Craig Hanley of Mississauga was detailed by Transit Enforcement and then handed over to police.

Hanley was arrested and charged with 26 counts of mischief over $5,000 and 19 counts of mischief under $5,000.

Police say they are going to speak with the Attorney General’s Office about laying hate crime charges.
