One man is dead and police have a 22-year-old man in custody following a downtown double stabbing.

Police were called to a residence on George Street in the area of Jarvis Street and Dundas Street East just after 4 p.m. on Thursday where they found a 35-year-old man inside a home. He was rushed to a trauma centre with critical injuries before being pronounced dead a few hours later.

The second victim was found in a nearby fast food restaurant with minor injuries. He was taken into custody by police and has since been charged with second-degree murder.

Police say the victim and the suspect were known to each other but have not specified the nature of their relationship.
