Bruce McArthur trial scheduled for January 2020

By News Staff and The Canadian Press

The trial for alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur is scheduled in January 2020.

The self-employed landscaper waived his right to a preliminary hearing last month, moving the case to Superior Court.

McArthur is facing eight counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of men linked to Toronto’s gay village.

There will be two proceedings at the University Avenue courthouse on Friday.

During McArthur’s previous court appearance, Justice John McMahon laid out the anticipated timeline for the case, saying a trial could begin as early as September 2019 or January 2020.
