Police search for suspect in Parkdale restaurant assault

By News Staff

Toronto police are looking for a suspect in connection with an assault at a Parkdale restaurant around two weeks ago.

Police say a 44-year-old man entered a restaurant in the Lansdowne Aveneue and Queen Street area on Nov. 12, around 1:20 a.m. and “hostile comments” were exchanged with another man sitting inside.

The seated man then got up and punched the 44-year-old, knocking him unconscious. He then kicked and stomped on the man’s motionless body.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.

Police say after the altercation, the suspect approached a restaurant employee, pushed him and demanded that any video be erased. He then fled eastbound on foot.

The suspect is described as approximately 30 to 40 years old, with a medium build and a beard.

Photos of the suspect have been released and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
