Soldier accused of killing another soldier in Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — An Army soldier has been arrested in the shooting death of another soldier in Colorado.
Pfc. Isaiah Towns was being held on suspicion of second-degree murder in the Saturday death of Spc. Shakir D. Cook-Troynel.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports Towns was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Online jail records did not indicate whether he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
Cook-Troynel and Towns were both assigned to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs.
Cook-Troynel was 23 and was from Homestead, Florida. He joined the Army in 2015 and deployed to Afghanistan this year. The Army says he received several commendations including the Army Achievement Medal.
The 20-year-old Towns is from Batesville, Mississippi. He has been in the Army for 17 months.
